Our Story
Steve Davis Pools was founded in 1985 and became Steve Davis & Sons Pools several years later as the Davis sons joined the family business. We have been building, reconstructing and maintaining pools for clients in southern California from Santa Barbara to Palos Verdes, and from Santa Clarita to Malibu and Beverly Hills. We take pride in our craftsmanship and attention to detail, and are committed to providing our clients with a pool that not only meets their needs but also exceeds their expectations. No job is too big or too small. As a family owned and operated business we take pride in providing the utmost care and consideration for your projects and want you to enjoy them for years. Our father started this business with a desire to change the industry and we are equally as passionate to keep that legacy going. How long will It take?
The majority of the time you should anticipate that permits for your swimming pool, under normal conditions in most jurisdictions, would be secured, and your pool excavated within one to two weeks from the time you select Steve Davis & Sons Pools. However, there are several factors that can affect this timing as well as the total time for completion. These factors are discussed briefly below.
Homeowners
Association
Some homeowners need to submit a plan to their homeowner association. The turn around time varies. Some permit issuing jurisdictions require the homeowner association approval prior to issuing the permit. Other jurisdictions will issue a permit without homeowner association approval.
Engineering
Every pool needs a standard engineering plan as a minimum. This can usually be secured within a couple of weeks. Features like slides, waterfalls, infinity edges, etc. require special engineering that can take longer. Some jurisdictions may require the services of a soils engineer and/or soils reports as a condition of the permit issuance.
Permits
The time it takes to get a permit varies by jurisdiction and is affected by your particular plan. A permit can be secured within one week, or it could take
several weeks, depending upon engineering required.
Construction
You should anticipate 12-16 weeks for completion of a standard rear yard project, including pool and masonry. Woodwork, wrought iron fencing, etc. may be installed simultaneously with masonry, but landscaping typically begins after masonry is completed.
